Shrewsbury High School are celebrating a clutch of medals after a successful competition for both Prep and Senior gymnasts at the Midlands Independent School Gymnastics Championships held in Lincolnshire at the weekend. The Midlands Independent Schools Gymnastics Championships were started in 1998 and is a 2 day weekend competition for girls, boys and mixed teams, and for both advanced and novice gymnasts. Shrewsbury High came away with Team Bronze for the Senior A Team, Bronze for the Prep A Team, and Silver for the Senior B team.

Lilia Banks won an individual bronze, with Evee Stevenson-Lea taking 4th in their categories.

Gymnastics coach at the school, Sarah-Jane Howard was delighted with how all the girls performed, adding “a special mention must go to Year 6 pupil Aemilia Orr who stepped into the Prep team with 48 hours notice due to an injury, and came into school in her holidays to learn a complex choreographed routine!”
