Arts Alive are delivering a night of laughter to South Shropshire on June 25. The rural touring scheme, which facilities cultural events across Shropshire and Herefordshire, has booked Birmingham’s premier improv group – Box of Frogs – to deliver their high-octane improvised comedy at Clungunford Parish Hall.

The Frogs will be coming out of lockdown hibernation for the performance. This will be the first live show from Arts Alive this year, following months of Covid restrictions. Cerin Mills, Live Events Programmer, said, “It brings us great pleasure to launch our live programme of events at long last! Kicking off with this comedic group should make for a joyous evening of laughter. The course the performance takes is based entirely on the audience’s suggestions, so whether you have been lucky enough to see them before or not, it will be a unique night for all!

“Expect the unexpected as these quick-witted comics conjure up hilarious spontaneous songs, sketches and scenes on the spur of the moment. Each performance is completely unique – the only certainty is comedic skill in action.”

The group will be performing entirely without a script to create a night of ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway’ type comedy, with improvised songs, stories, and silliness.

A review from Love Midlands Theatre describe their show: “Improvised comedy group Box of Frogs warmly invite you to be part of their crazy, mischievous little family for one night. There is nothing that can prepare you for the evening ahead, even the members of the group have no idea what is going to happen after the audience is settled in. But the one thing that can be guaranteed is you’ll be laughing throughout.”

Box of Frogs Improv Comedy comes to Clungunford Parish Hall near Craven Arms on Friday, June 25 at 7:30pm. Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, £5 for children and £25 for families. The show is suitable for ages 7+. Tickets can be purchased by visiting artsalive.co.uk or by calling 01588 660152.
