The start of a new year is an excellent time to reflect on life’s priorities, including writing or revisiting your Will. According to research the average age to write a will is 58[1], yet over a third of people aged 55 and over have not done so yet[2]. To help support this, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s free Will writing service is available to individuals aged 50 and above.
The charity is highlighting the importance of having this critical legal document in place. Even for those who already have a Will, it is recommended to review it every five years or after major life events such as marriage, or a significant change in financial circumstances.
This service is provided in partnership with several local Solicitors, making it accessible and straightforward for communities across Shropshire. Solicitors participating in the scheme in Shropshire include:
- Parry Carver Solicitors (Telford), 7 Church Street, Wellington, Telford TF1 1BX
- Parry Carver Solicitors (Newport), 64 Upper Bar, Newport, Shropshire, TF10 7EJ
- Parry Carver Solicitors (Shifnal), The Forum, Victoria Road, Shifnal, TF11 8FE
- Matthews Legal Solicitors (Shrewsbury), 34-35 Butcher Row, Shrewsbury SY1 1UW

- Graham Withers & Co., 46 Cheshire Street, Market Drayton, Shropshire TF9 1PQ
Pamela Senioré, legacy executive for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “It’s staggering to see that more than a third of UK adults over 55 do not have a Will in place. Passing away without taking care of those who matter most to you can result in unnecessary, emotional, and lengthy disputes. Making a Will is so simple and ensures that your final wishes are fulfilled. We are keen to break the stigma around the complexities that put people off making their Will.
Our free Will writing service is open to those over the age of 50, and we urge supporters without a current Will to start planning now. For those who already have one, the new year is the perfect opportunity to ensure it reflects your current circumstances and wishes.”
Remembering Midlands Air Ambulance Charity in a Will is a powerful way to leave a legacy that supports the charity’s lifesaving missions for years to come. While there is no obligation to leave a gift to the charity when using the service, many supporters choose to do so. Even the smallest legacy can help fund future lifesaving missions and make a lasting impact on the community. One in four of the charity’s missions is funded by a gift in a Will and every legacy donation, whether large or small, contributes to the sustainability and future of the charity’s lifesaving service. Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is incredibly grateful to those who choose to support them in this meaningful way.
