A Wellness Weekend is new on the menu this autumn at Weston Park country estate, which sits on the Shropshire / Staffordshire border. Appropriately launching on World Mental Health Day (10 October 2020) the weekends promise a ‘me time’ restorative experience dedicated to wellbeing and have been created to enable guests to savour the beauty of nature and the flavours of freshly harvested produce.
Wellness Weekends will take place: Saturday 10 October, Saturday 7 November and Saturday 14 November 2020.
This is the chance to get away from it all, with 1,000 acres of Capability Brown grounds as your backdrop and a programme of activities that will enable guests to enjoy the reset and refresh they’ve been craving. The weekend features a wellness session, cooking demonstration, overnight stay in the Country House, a wellness inspired three-course meal using produce from the Walled Garden and breakfast the following morning.
Your arrival will be accompanied by the relaxing sensation that goes with a stay at Weston Park, where the team will take care of every detail to ensure the perfect stay. After a leisurely check-in you’re invited to partake in the Japanese phenomenon of ‘Forest Bathing’, with a qualified Wellness Coach as your guide. Immerse your senses in the natural world; feel the breeze, smell the fragrances around you, absorb the natural light and see the beauty of nature in a new way.
The vast 17th century house gives guests the opportunity to really make themselves at home, with individually decorated and furnished bedrooms and the state rooms to enjoy. Dinner will be freshly prepared by Weston’s brigade of chefs, with the menu designed to encourage wellness. Each of the courses will take in the season’s finest produce including that grown on the estate. Served in the recently redecorated historic Dining Room, with its double height ceiling, this will be a joyful and uplifting experience.
After an a la carte breakfast served in the Victorian Music Room there is the opportunity to take a tour of the gardens. This includes the Walled Garden which, just as it has over the centuries, grows an abundance of produce for the estate, including local fruit and vegetable varieties. Assistant Head Gardener Dan Charlesworth will share his expert insight, giving take away tips that you can use in your own garden or think about when you are shopping. This will be followed by a cooking demonstration with Weston Park’s Head Chef Anna Moore to complete the from Field to Fork inspiration that guests will come away with.
During the Wellness Weekends the Weston Park estate is yours to explore. With 1,000 acres of landscaped parkland, beautifully kept gardens and calming woodland to wander at your leisure, a retreat is the ultimate weekend away from it all.
Wellness Weekends will take place on Saturday 10 October, Saturday 7 November and Saturday 14 November 2020. They are priced at £425 per couple.
