This winter the Arts charity based in Shrewsbury Town Centre welcomes an immersive show by Half Moon Theatre for babies from 0-18 months and their grown ups. ‘Glisten’ is a theatre show with a difference, offering a gentle and multi-sensory experience exploring the world of reflective materials wrapped up in a soundscape of laid-back music. Watch as the empty space of the theatre fills with colour, sounds and surprises, creating a sensory landscape ready to explore after the performance is over.
Created by theatre-maker Daniel Naddafy and visual artist Phoebe Stubbs, ‘Glisten’ is designed to be performed to a small audience creating an intimate and unique theatrical experience. This short show is followed by an interactive free-play session where babies can explore the tactile world of ‘Glisten’. Daniel Naddafy commented: “A lot of work for this age range is beautiful but not always artistically engaging for the adults who are taking the babies to the theatre. I wanted to create something that would be artistically engaging for everyone, and I think I have achieved this with the music, which really seems to link the adults and babies.” Chris Elwell, Director of Half Moon Theatre is impressed by how Daniel is able to balance this dynamic in the show; “He is a sensitive performer and manages to build a mesmerising connection with each child. It is wonderful to watch small faces become enthralled with sound, colour, light and texture as they are immersed in the world of reflective materials.”
