Local insurance broker firm, Rees Astley, turned 50 this year. As part of anniversary celebrations they have taken on sponsorship of the live music stage at this year’s Shropshire Oktoberfest.
The beer festival is set to take place in Shrewsbury’s Quarry Park on October 4 and 5. Local brewers from across the region will be serving up hundreds of different ales, with festival goers due to turn out in lederhosen for one of the best attended events in the town.
The live music stage will be welcoming a wealth of local talent, including The Paprika Blues Band, Custard Connection, The Follicles, Asparagus and the Kilburn, Dirty Rockin’ Scoundrels, Five O’clock Hero, and Saturday headliners – Bouncing Betty. There will be plenty of oompah too, with Vorsprung Durch Oompah also due to perform.
Mike Gardner, Director at Rees Astley, commented on what their involvement means to the firm. “Our 50th birthday is a significant milestone for us, and everyone here is incredibly proud to work at such an established and well-respected company.
“We wanted our birthday celebrations to include the local community and an offering of fun, and this Shropshire Festival’s event certainly encompasses those things! We hope everyone who attends Shropshire Oktoberfest enjoys the entertainment on the Rees Astley Music Stage. We’ll be raising a beer to our company, and enjoying the festivities with you!”
Event organiser, Beth Heath, adds, “It is fantastic to have the support of the team at Rees Astley, who are such an important business in the area. This is the third year of their continual sponsorship. It is with this support that we are able to construct an impressive stage with some fabulous musicians and artists booked to perform.”
With offices in Aberystwyth, Newtown and Shrewsbury, Rees Astley are recognised as being one of the leading firms of insurance brokers in Mid and West Wales, Shropshire and the West Midlands.
