Shrewsbury Choral are delighted to bring their Spring Concert to Shrewsbury Abbey; on 18th April in a programme of music that will include Mendelssohn – The Hebrides Overture (Fingal’s Cave); Haydn – Heiligmesse (Missa Sancti Bernardi von Offida), and Brahms – Piano Concerto No 2 in Bb.

Shrewsbury Choral will be led by their Musical Director, Dr. Martin Cook, and they will be accompanied by Shrewsbury Sinfonia (leader Anne Tupling) with the highly acclaimed piano soloist Sean Godden.

Jenny Worley, Chair of Shrewsbury Choral said: “We are delighted to welcome the prizewinning Sean Godden, who won the Jury Special Prize for Excellence in the Concours Île-de-France Piano Competition in Paris in 2024. He is currently a second-year undergraduate scholar at The Royal Northern College of Music under Graham Scott. Sean will be performing one of the most magnificent solo works in the classical piano repertoire- Brahms – Piano Concerto No 2 in Bb.

Our Spring Concert promises a pleasurable concert experience driven by a combination of high-quality singing that will give our audience an emotional connection to some superbly composed music”.
