The organisers of the Sir John Talbot’s School Whitchurch 10K run which is taking place on Sunday 9th April are extremely grateful for all of the local businesses who have provided sponsorship and support for the event, allowing for it to take place.
The main sponsor of the event is Grocontinental who have generously contributed £2000. Other sponsors include; Jane Smellie Opticians, Leonard Brothers, Hatchers, McDonalds, Sport Whitchurch, Hawk and Print Monkey.
Linda Grocott, Managing Director of Grocontinental, commented, “The SJT 10k is great news for Whitchurch and we would like to congratulate the team of organisers for managing to co-ordinate a high-profile event for the town and to attract over 500 runners.”
She continued, “We are very pleased to be headline sponsor of the inaugural run and to support the great work that Macmillan carry out in our local community. I am sure the run will really grow over the coming years and is one which will appeal to both established runners because of its UK Athletics affiliation and those more interested in running for fun.”
Mr David O’Toole, Headteacher at Sir John Talbot’s School, commented, “There is a real buzz in the community of Whitchurch, as evidenced in the willingness of so many sponsors to get behind the Whitchurch 10K in aid of Macmillan. The continued support for events at Sir John Talbot’s School is incredible and is a real investment in the lives and aspirations of the young people in the area. The event promises to be a spectacular celebration of community spirit and healthy lifestyles. Thank you to everyone getting involved with such an exciting event in the Shropshire calendar.”
