Shropshire Cat Rescue an independent cat rescue charity in Bayston Hill, near Shrewsbury, is appealing to businesses across the region to become corporate sponsors in support of vital new shelter facilities.
The charity is seeking funding to upgrade six ageing shelter units which have provided refuge for countless vulnerable cats over the years and are now in urgent need of replacement. The new purpose-built cottages will replace the existing buildings in the rescue centre’s Retirement Village – a unique space designed to offer lifelong comfort and security to cats who cannot be rehomed due to age of ongoing medical needs.
The upgraded cottages will provide improved insulation and enhanced facilities, creating a safer, warmer and more comfortable environment for the cats in the charity’s care, while helping to future-proof the centre’s infrastructure.
Designed with the charity’s long-term plans in mind, the new cottages can also be dismantled and relocated if required. This will allow Shropshire Cat Rescue to move the facilities to its future home as part of the PURR Project, the charity’s long-term vision to relocate to a larger, purpose-built rescue centre.
For more than 20 years, Shropshire Cat Rescue has cared for hundreds of stray, abandoned, and unwanted cats. The charity works tirelessly to provide medical care, find loving homes or facilitate long-term care, and to educate the public on all aspects of cat welfare. With the shelter consistently operating at full capacity, the ageing condition of the existing cottages presents growing challenges in maintaining the high standards of care the charity is committed to delivering.
Dianne Beaumont, Trustee at Shropshire Cat Rescue, said: “Replacing our cottages is essential to ensuring the welfare of the cats in our care. The new units will provide a comfier, safer and cleaner space for our Retirement Village residents to relax and thrive, allowing us to continue delivering life-changing care for cats in the area.
“Shropshire Cat Rescue relies heavily on the kindness and generosity of our supporters. Whether a business chooses Bronze, Silver or Gold sponsorship, every contribution will help us provide a safe, comfortable future for vulnerable cats while investing in facilities that will serve the charity for many years to come.”
Businesses can support the Retirement Village redevelopment through three sponsorship packages, with opportunities starting from £500. The flexible sponsorship tiers have been designed to enable organisations of all sizes to support the project while receiving recognition for their contribution. Sponsors will also be invited to a special reception at Shropshire Cat Rescue once the new cottages are complete, offering the opportunity to see the finished project and meet the team behind the charity.
Every sponsorship will help create a safer, more comfortable environment for the cats in Shropshire Cat Rescue’s care, while enabling local businesses to play a lasting role in the future of the charity.
