Party in the Garden at The Windmill Inn 1

The Windmill Inn at Rowton is hosting its first ‘Garden Party’ June 17th and 18th

The Windmill at Rowton is starting their summer season with a party in the garden. On Saturday and Sunday, 17th and 18th June, there will be something for everyone to enjoy, just ten minutes drive from Shrewsbury. The family-run, traditional pub – has extensive gardens and parking just on the side of the A5. Even if it rains, the party will still go on. There will be a marquee in the garden for the weekend, to ensure fun even without sun! Local brews, Prosecco and Pimms, cocktails, a sweet shop and ice cream stall – all of the family will find their favourites. Games in the garden, hot food and acoustic singer songwriter Anthony Doyle to entertain guests on Saturday evening. If you are struggling for ideas for Father’s Day on the Sunday – this could be the answer.

From one garden to another

The event will also be raising money for another garden that helps many people. Horatio’s Garden is a fantastic initiative for creating gardens within NHS spinal injuries units. They are spaces of calm and tranquillity, where patients can recuperate and rehabilitate – somewhere to go other than their hospital ward, during these challenging times. The Windmill will be raising money for the garden scheme at Oswestry Orthopaedic, helping local lives.

Jane Hughes, owner, said: “We are looking forward to hosting our first event of this kind. We have a fabulous outside space at The Windmill and stunning views. We thought that we would welcome locals and invite some new people to come and see us! Our aim is for everyone to have a relaxed and enjoyable weekend, rain or shine – and to raise some money for a fantastic cause at the same time.”
