There was a special assembly this morning at Packwood Haugh School in Ruyton XI Towns as we welcomed Lynsey Kilvert from Hope House Children’s Hospice and presented her with a cheque from Packwood’s most recent fundraising event.

Every pupil at Packwood took part in a 12.5km sponsored walk last month – just one of the many special events that have taken place throughout the course of this academic year to mark the school’s 125th anniversary.

The children raised an impressive sum in sponsorship and those who had signed up the greatest number of sponsors won prizes for their efforts which were kindly presented by Lynsey this morning. In turn, we were delighted to hand over a cheque for £2,788.38. A sum that equates to half the total raised, with the remaining 50% going towards the school’s 125 Science Appeal
