Nuffield Health are delighted to announce that they have secured a partnership with Telford Tigers Ice Hockey Club to become the club’s Official Medical Partner.

Nuffield Health Shrewsbury Hospital and Nuffield Health Telford Fitness and Wellbeing Club, will come together to provide Telford Tigers with a host of opportunities, benefits and services. Nuffield Health are committed to helping Head Coach Tom Watkins and his team to their desired level of mental and physical wellbeing to enable them to compete at the highest possible level.

Telford Tigers play a fundamental role in the local community and carry this responsibility at the heart of everything they do. As a not for profit organisation, Nuffield Health offer an extensive array of complimentary health related programmes and services.  This partnership will also allow Nuffield Health to offer its products and services to a wider audience and become more involved in the Telford & Wrekin community.  The two businesses have a number of aims and strategies, which are in line with each other, such as improving health and wellbeing within the community and we very much look forward to working together to achieve these goals”.

Tom Watkins, Telford Tigers Head Coach, added “We are all very excited to form this new partnership with Nuffield Health.  To be associated with such a well-known brand is fantastic news for the club and will enhance the medical support we currently have available for player injury and player welfare. Ice Hockey is a very demanding sport both physically and mentally with players playing up to 50-60 games a season, to be able provide high level care from health assessments to access to Consultants on a priority basis is huge step forward for us.”

The partnership will also see Nuffield Health add further value to Telford Tigers’ other sponsors and partners, through the corporate and commercial services on offer.  Nuffield Health have been working with a number of local companies in recent years to ensure their workforce are at their optimum level of wellbeing, through offerings such as health MOT’s, one-on-one consultations, physiotherapy and psychological and emotional wellbeing seminars.

Telford Tigers were formed in 1985 and currently compete in the National Ice Hockey League. The Tigers play a hugely important role within the community, helping to coach juniors aged from 4 up to 19, as well as running the two senior teams. A number of Telford Junior Players now represent England or GB in their respective age groups.
