Concert Director Richard Walker at Shrewsbury’s St Chad’s church has announced programme details of the weekly lunchtime concerts for June at St. Chad’s church, Shrewsbury.
On June 6th in a change to the advertised programme; music-lover will be able to enjoy a recital by award-winning Greek pianist Alexia Daphne Eleftheriadou, who will be playing music by Bach, Scriabin and Schubert – and which is a preview of part of her Wigmore Hall recital the following week. Baritone Paul Mocroft has sung annually at St Chad’s for many years; always offering a different programme and he returns this year on June 13th with his new accompanist, Colin Willis. Holborn Brass – a quintet of two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba will perform on June 20th. Brass music sounds magnificent in St Chad’s, and they will make full use of the space for maximum effect! The month ends with a concert by pupils of Shrewsbury High School on June 27th that includes a great variety of styles.
