Expect to hear singing, drumming and creative merriment coming from The Hive on Sunday 5th September. Nestled in Shrewsbury Town centre is a local Arts Charity offering a day of fun, creative and inspiring workshops to children and young people, and every single session will be free!

Since reopening their doors this summer The Hive have offered outdoor theatre, craft workshops, music sessions and live performance, as well as welcoming back participants into the venue as part of their wellbeing charity projects. CEO Cerin Mills explains why this time has been like no other; ‘The building has come alive again. It’s been invigorating and inspiring which is why we are so excited for our free workshops on Sunday 5th September. We’re overjoyed to offer a day of diverse and creative sessions for children of all ages, and it would be great to see some new faces too!’

The day will comprise of songwriting sessions, environmental arts & crafts, poetry and visual arts to Jembe drumming workshops. Full details are listed below:

10.30am – Jembe Drumming workshop in The Hive Studio with Jonathan &Josh. Ages 10 +

10.30am – 12pm & 1pm – 2.30pm – Songwriting workshop in The Hive’s Music Studio with Beth. Ages 13 +

10.30am – 12pm & 1pm – 2.30pm – Poetry and Visual Arts in The Hive’s Media Studio with Emily. Ages 16 +

10.30am – 11.30am, 1pm – 2pm & 3pm – 4pm – Environmental Arts family workshops under The Hive’s pergola with Jamila. Ages 5 +
