Leading partnerships housing developer Lovell Midlands has donated £250 to both the Princess Royal Hospital and Severn Hospice in Telford, where it has numerous developments.

Two contractors, Harley Finishing and Arrow Ltd, have also donated to each charity. Harlow has contributed £100 and Arrow has contributed £50, making the total for each charity £325.

The Princess Royal Hospital in Telford provides a wide range of hospital services for people within Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales. During 2012, the hospital became the Trust’s main specialist centre for inpatient head and neck surgery, and for inpatient Women and Children’s services.

Severn Hospice give specialist care and support to families across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who are living with an incurable illness. Since 1989, they have given free care to more than 34,000 people and their families, and now help more than 2,000 local people every year.

Stuart Penn, regional managing director at Lovell, said: “We’re thrilled to have made these donations to both the Princess Royal Hospital and Severn Hospice. The pandemic has been especially challenging for patients and their families, carers and medical staff, and we’re very proud to be able to make this contribution to support their valuable work.”

Jess Druce, Severn Hospice’s area fundraiser said: “We are so grateful to Lovell for their generous donation, which is very welcome, particularly in the current climate.

“Every donation makes a huge difference to us and the company’s kindness means we can continue to care for people living with incurable illness when they need us most. Thank you so much – it’s because people, companies and businesses like Lovell care that we can.”

Julia Clarke, Director responsible for SaTH Charity at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust which runs Princess Royal Hospital, said: “On behalf of all my colleagues at the Trust, I would like to say a very big thank you for this welcome donation which will help us to make a difference for our patients and their families, and our staff.

“Thanks to the generosity of our community supporters like Lovell, SaTH Charity is able to fund medical equipment, additional training for staff and medical research programmes as well as enhance patient experience and comfort. Thank you.”
