Moreton Hall Pupils Hannah Legge aged 15 and Iris Downes aged 14 have been selected to represent Wales’ U19A team at this year’s Home Internationals tournament, taking place next month.
Head of Lacrosse Coaching Miss Harrington commented: “As a school we are exceptionally proud of Hannah and Iris. It is a fantastic achievement to be selected to represent your country at a national event and is a true reflection of the hard work they have both given to their Lacrosse. I am so happy that their commitment has been recognised. I know they will perform brilliantly at Home Internationals and am looking forward to hearing all about the experience.
“On behalf of Moreton Hall I’d like to wish all our international Lacrosse players the best of luck for the tournament.”
Iris added: “Being part of the First Team at Moreton and having fantastic coaching has really developed my Lacrosse this year. And I am now able to play at a high level; and I am so excited to have been selected for the under 19A team for Wales with Hannah!”
Reflecting on her Lacrosse journey, Hannah added: “My Lacrosse coaching at Moreton began in Remove and my love for the sport has grown ever since. I have been coached by Mrs Sanderson, Mrs Lewin, and Miss Harrington, all of whom have given up hours of their free time to train and support our school teams.
“It’s thanks to their dedication and commitment that I have been able to play at such a high level and have realised my ambition of playing for my country.”
