Leading Midlands quantity surveying practice CQS Solutions has welcomed the approval of plans to help shape the future of a popular National Trust country estate.
The National Trust has secured planning approval for the first phase of construction of a new ‘outdoor hub’ at Attingham Park, near Shrewsbury.
It will include a new visitor welcome area, café and kiosks, kitchen and toilets and parking, alongside new trails, wildlife viewing and children’s play areas.
CQS Solutions – which has bases in Telford, Birmingham and Mid Wales – has been appointed to lead the cost planning for the first phase and to manage the tender process through to the appointment of a contractor.
Tim Lloyd, principal surveyor and owner of CQS Solutions, said:
“This is a landmark project for Shropshire and a positive step for local communities who need more accessible green space.
“With planning approval now secured, we’re working closely with the National Trust project team to refine the cost plan as designs evolve and to prepare the scheme for market.
“We are absolutely delighted to be working with such a prestigious organisation as the National Trust on a project that is on our doorstep. We all enjoy going to Attingham Park and being able to play a role in its future is both rewarding and exciting for us.”
Attingham Park was the most visited National Trust property in England in 2022-23, with more than 560,000 visitors.
CQS Solutions specialises in cost consultancy for public and private sector developments as well as heritage, leisure and community‑focused projects across Wales and the Midlands.
It enjoyed double-digit sales growth last year and says increased demand from the public sector and the deregulation of the planning system are already driving extra demand in 2026.
