Children looking to move to a prestigious Shropshire school will get a rare chance to experience life as a pupil there before joining.
For the first time an Explorer Day will be held at Ellesmere College on Thursday 26 February.
Those in current school years five and six can get hands-on experience in science experiments, music making, tennis and sport and design and technology for the day.
Stephen Mullock, Deputy Head External Relations, said: “We have always held an open morning or taster day at a different time of the year, but we are hoping holding it at the end of February for the first time will give potential pupils a more realistic and wholesome experience of being in our school grounds, seeing life as it is day to day.
“We will open a lot of our facilities up for the occasion and hope those attending make amazing discoveries about what’s on offer here.
“It is sure to be an action-packed day at Ellesmere Lower School with the opportunity to try out exciting activities, make new friends, and see what life at Ellesmere is all about.”
The sessions will include science experiments which reveal new discoveries, creating rhythms and melodies with the Ellesmere College music staff, designing, building and bringing ideas to life as well as games and challenges with Ellesmere’s expert coaches.
