St. Chad’s church, Shrewsbury has announced details of their April lunchtime concerts. All concerts are free of charge with retiring collections.   There is lunch after each concert in the church hall.

On April 14th: Richard Walker will give an organ recital, including a wonderful arrangement of Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture, and on April 21st music-lovers in Shropshire will be fortunate to have several first class flautists, and four of them are in concert playing arrangements and original compositions for four flutes.

April 28th will see Romanian soprano Gabriela Talvan, a 4th year scholarship student at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire performing a programme of songs and operatic arias.

Another highlight of the year will be another harp recital by the rising star Gina Taylor on July 21st.  Cello recitals will be given by two great soloists: Corinne Frost (June 30th) and Ulrich Heinen (September 29th).   There are vocal, piano, violin and many other recitals as well, together with several chamber music concerts.
