A Yoga Home with Heart: Women in Ludlow Launch Community Wellbeing Studio

Marches Movement CIC, a newly founded community interest company, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to create Ludlow’s first nature-inspired yoga and somatic wellbeing studio. The space will be inclusive, trauma-sensitive, and accessible—especially for those who are often left out of traditional wellness spaces: carers, isolated older adults and those living with chronic stress or low income.

The campaign, currently live on Spacehive, is seeking to raise £7,276 by August 18th, 2025, with potential funding from Shropshire Council via the platform’s funding scheme. The new studio—based at SY8 Studios on Gravel Hill—aims to become a sanctuary of movement, stillness, connection, and care for the whole community.

Rooted in Experience, Led with Heart

The trio behind the project—Marie Burrows, Charlotte Price, and Jennie Verma—bring together deep personal and professional experience in yoga, finance, and education. All three are Shropshire-based women with a shared mission: to make wellbeing radically more local, inclusive, and community-led.

“This isn’t just about yoga—it’s about nervous system support, embodied connection, and remembering that we belong to nature and to each other,” says Marie Burrows, co-founder and yoga teacher. “We’re planting something that can hold many people through change, growth and all seasons of life.”

If successful the space will host subsidised and free inclusive yoga and wellbeing sessions including: chair yoga, yoga for mental health, yoga for carers, women’s circles and more alongside a wider timetable.

The team invites readers to pledge any amount—from £2 to £200—via their Spacehive campaign page, and help bring the project to life.

“Every pledge helps us move towards unlocking funding—and brings us closer to a space where people can simply come and breathe,” says Charlotte Price, co-founder.
